Eating Solids

This picture doesn't really look like Jax, but it is cute all the same
This was taken before it got really messy

He sure enjoyed himself

This is Jax and his first bite

Last Saturday we brought out the video camera for a big event...Jaxon started eating solids! The word "solid" in this context is relative because his "solid" cereal was really just watery mush to everyone with teeth. Most of the cereal ended up on his chin and shirt, but it was fun to try it out. We're now on day three and he is much more proficient at eating his cereal. Another day, another milestone...

Not gonna lie...that first picture looks a little scary. However, it looks like Jaxon is enjoying his "solid" food. I can just picture the four of you all surrounding him trying to feed him. That was probably more of a spectacle that Jaxon was.

We wish we were there.

So much fun. Soon he'll be eating goat cheese. :)

As a totally unbiased and independent participant in Jaxon's first experience with rice cereal, allow me to confirm that by day 3 (which, coincidentally, is the day I got to feed him), he was actually swallowing the contents of the spoon and no longer gagging/spewing.

That's been a few days ago, and I feel certain he's not only feeding himself by now; but that he's most likely preparing and serving gourmet meals for all the other babies in the neighborhood.

Mum and I had SUCH a great time in Coeur d'Alene last week...thanks for putting up with us!

Love you guys!
